ARTIST STATEMENT

Ronald's art draws inspiration from across the broad spectrum of the science fiction and fantasy tradition. From realist book illustration and album covers of the 80's to Japanese Manga, his personal tastes vary greatly and this influences his art in unique ways. You will most often notice a distinct attempt to avoid directly copying stylistic approaches of other artists. Any similarities that do exist come from the shared source material of the genre rather than direct imitation.

The artworks on display on this site constitute a special selection of both the best digital illustrations, and certain pieces of earlier developmental art that demonstrate his artistic process. This is by no means the extent of his art, but rather a small sampling that will ultimately come to include sketches, ink-work, life-work, and 'in-process' artworks.
